Masonic Charitable Foundation 2017

Masonic Charitable Foundation 2017

On 9th September 2017 the Masonic Charitable Foundation will donate Grants totaling £58,000 to 6 Cumbria based local Charities. The amount each Charity receives will be decided by a public vote which will take place between 12th June and 31st July this year. The largest amount will be £25,000 and the smallest, £4,000.

Eden Mencap has been nominated by the East Lakes Group of Lodges and we would be delighted if they received the most votes and got the biggest Grant. This would enable them to begin a new project – Value4ability – EMS adults supporting vulnerable people in our local community, this service will develop into a social enterprise and provide real work based tasks, skill building, independence, community interaction, friendships, a listening ear, a friendly face and alert service –  leading to paid work for adults who have learning disabilities and autism. Providing this service to our local community’s elderly and vulnerable will align with the aims of Freemason – Charity.
